christmas eve hike
another photograph taken on my hike.
christmas eve hike
it was beautiful to be in a park hiking again. peaceful and quiet and just what i needed.
merry christmas
the other day while i was in the city i stopped into this church and lit a candle for all of my loved ones that have passed away. yesterday they all came with me on a two and a half hour hike here in the redwoods. a cathedral to me. today they were with me again as i walked on the beach for an hour. it is a very merry christmas. i am surrounded by loved ones.
hoping
here’s hoping no one gets grounded due to the weather during this holiday season.
i could
with a fire in the fireplace, food in the fridge, warm blankets, a great cup of coffee (obviously not mine), some good books and jazz i could spend several comfy days and nights here snowed in. and never once feel lonely.
let it snow
let it snow, let it snow, let it snow ………………………………………………………………………….. just not here where i am.
christmas tree
i even considered a “charlie brown” kind of tree but decided against that seeing as i am not planning on being here that much over the holiday.
happy holidays
i tried to get into the holiday spirit so i bought a rosemary tree shaped in the form of a christmas tree. i read the instructions and followed them to a tee. even set my alarm 15 min earlier so i could get up and water the plant and then open the blinds so it would get enough sunshine. i did this every day faithfully … without fail, that is, i did it faithfully till i drowned the plant.
honey
love my tea with honey. this is a small market located outside the hospital on fridays’. stocked up on their honey since as the sign reads they will be closed till after the first of the year.
holiday treats
an assortment of ways to carry around those holiday treats.
another one
just another one i just liked.
appreciation
the asian museum
a beautiful design on a wardrobe in the asian museum.
genie in a bottle
in some ways i wish i could say this was intentional, but in truth it was purely a happy accident. my focus was the bottles. i liked the color combination and their shapes. it wasn’t till i got home and was reviewing the photographs i had taken that day that i noticed this comic accident. the only alteration i made to this photograph was i enhanced the colors of the bottles. when i need a...
a demonstration
a gentleman demonstrating his craft at the asian museum.
soothing
to me this is a very soothing print. i like the colors, the composition and of course, the subject matter.
appreciation
i could only appreciate this piece of work for the beauty of it. others had a deeper appreciation not only for the beauty of the work but also for the written word.
the asian museum
going through the asian museum yesterday i was attempting a few “shooting from the hip” type shots. most were deleted but i did like this one of a young woman looking at a portion of the jade exhibit.
maharaja: the splendor of india's royal courts
today i went to the asian museum in san francisco to see this exhibit. it turned out to be far more interesting than i had originally thought. the opulence of the maharaja’s could be seen throughout their history. today i looked closely at the attention they paid to design and detail. the precious and semi precious stones they used in their jewelry were and are just beautiful. very glad i...
for d
this cafe and the restaurant next door were recommended to me by d. thank you. both were excellent. the coffee and break were needed by the time i stopped exploring the area. and the restaurant was delicious. no knife was needed to the lamb shank i treated myself to.
